That scene in Sunshine, when Captain Kaneda is looking towards the sun’s energy coming at him, and Searle keeps asking him “Kaneda, what do you see? What do you see?” from the control room in Icarus II…really intense…The Captain knows he’s going to die but he wants to see the sun
(because we fucked up so bad on earth, no one’s seen it in ages)and his face is just in complete awe and he’s overwhelmed and you know it’s not because he’s dying but it’s because he can see the sun…and the music…I just… wow.
